Mr. Kline, how can I raise my grade?

1)   Do what you ought to do when you ought to do it, whether you want to do it or not.
2)   Use your class time well and wisely. I assign very little homework, so misusing class time often leads to missing work.
3)   When you are confused, ask for help as soon as possible. I’m available during both lunches, after school, and usually before school.
4)   If you’re not sure why you earned the grade you did, ask me about it. If you don’t, you’re likely to make the same mistakes next time and earn the same score.
5)   Simply asking me about your grade doesn’t change it. Changing your grade takes work and effort.
6)   Checking your grade on Student View – especially during class – doesn’t do anything to change your grade.
7)   If you wait until week 8 to have any of these conversations, it’s probably too late.
