  3. I read " Only 50 transfers available for the most popular high schools" from *The Oregonian.* The article states that Portland Public Schools are limiting slots for transfer students as they move into high school in order to create schools with the same size and offerings. I think this is a great idea. It seems ridiculous to me that your educational options should be limited by where your parents choose to live. All Portland public schools should offer the same elective, athletic , and academic opportunities.

  4. I read The Oregonian, and i read about the L.A Clipper and Miami Heat game. Blake Griffin had a great game, having a double double. His 42nd of the season. Even though Griffin had a good game the Heat still beat the Clippers by 18 points.

  5. Ask An Expert About A.D.H.D
    Toby Billanow
This article is about A.D.H.D and how it's most commonly associated with younger people. Recently, Dr. Barkley published " Taking Charge of Adult A.D.H.D", Which raises awareness for the 4 to 5 percent of Adults that suffer from this impairing disorder. I think that this article is useful for adults who might have questions on A.D.H.D and where it stems from. At the end of this article you can ask questions and post comments for the doctor to read and answer.

  6. Ever wanted to learn Chinese? well in some school in oregon you can get your very own Chinese teacher from China, that is still in china and will do a webcam chat with you so you can learn Chinese. Some Oregon schools decided it was time to remove German and let students take Chinese instead of German. I am gonna take a guess and say this may be a good thing. my reason for that would be why wouldn't you want to know Chinese!

  7. The article i read on The Oregonian was about how Nancy Reagan celebrated Ronald Reagan's 100th birthday celebration. 1500 people showed up for the ceremony. LoneStar one of Ronald's favorite country performers performed and so did a few other artists. Also the USS flew over the ceremony where everyone sang him happy birthday. he had died at the age 89.

Summery of "WikiLeaks Founder Back in Court to Challenge Extradition" written by Andrew Testa, published by the New York Times. 2/7/2011

This articles states that the founder of wikileaks is in court in London fighting not to be sent to Sweden to be heard for charges of rape. He argues that he has done nothing wrong and that it is a smear campaign by unknown enemies because of the countless government documents released.

I found this in the Oregonian

I read the article "Shooting of vets by police set off alarms" This story is about how three men who served in the military were shot by police. I think that is kind of wrong for the police men to do because those three guys go to war to save our lives, and those police men shot them and toke their lives away. The sate isn't very happy about this and I don't think that their families are either. I think that they should take this case further like Gresham Police Chief Craig Junginger said to do.

  11. I read "After 65 Years, Fix Track Era Will Come to an End," by Ken Goe, from the Oregonian. This article explains why DavidFix is going to retire after season 2011. He thinks he has been a coach long enough and it is time to be a retired man. I think David Fix is smart to retire at the age of 62 because he has been a coach since 1981 and needs sometime to do things that he won't be able to do as he gets older. I decided to read this article because I have heard of his name but I did not know very much about him.

  12. I read the article "Mr. Rodgers' Neighborhood," by Barry Wilner, from the Oregonian. This article was really interesting cause I learned some new facts about the Packers and the players that I already didn't know. I learned that Rodgers has one just as many Super Bowls now as ex-Packer quarterback, Bret Farve. I decided to choose this article because I watched the Super Bowl yesterday, and I was rooting for the Packers, and they won!

  13. I read "Mr. Rodger's Neighborhood." Aaron Rodgers led his team to the Super Bowl and they won. He is a quarterback for Green Bay. This is their first championship win in 14 years. He also go MVP of the game. Their team played hard. They were the underdogs and were not expected to win but they did. I enjoyed this article because it was a good summery of the game.

Only 50 transfers available for the most popular high schools
    The Oregonian

I think they should be putting more money towards schools instead of closing them down. It can be hard enough to get to school then they want to make kids go to school that is farther away from where they live. It is messed up to me. I have friends that go there and it makes things a lot harder then it should be. Students should be focused on homework and school work not how they're going to get to and from school.

  18. "What’s a Little Swine Flu Outbreak Among Friends?" From *The New York Times* says that influenza, or swine flu, may not spread how we originally thought it did. It seems that it actually spreads through the kids networks of friends, and NOT from sitting next to an infected child. Also, adults that got infected probably didn't get it from their children. I think that this is pretty interesting, because I really thought that swine flu spread from sitting next to an infected kid. The more you know.

The article talked about how Aaron Rodgers was Brett Favre's back up but now Aaron showed everyone he's the star that he was in college. He already has tied Brett with super bowl rings and is showing everyone that he is one of the best QB's in the game. Aaron led the packer to the super bowl from being the no. 6 seed in the playoffs. The packers are only the second team to be ever to win the super bowl after coming as the no. 6 seed.

It was very interesting. There was a very deadly wildfire in Australia that ripped across 4,000 acres of the outskirts of an Australian city, it destroyed dozens of homes. Even though there were 200 firefighters, they still couldn't control it until it had destroyed 41 homes. I think this article is very interesting, it tells people the dangers of wildfires and that if you are told to evacuate your house, you definitely should!

The article states that at the border of Cambodia and Thai, Tai soliders were shot at after looking for a fallen comrade, and the Cambodians fired to repel them. I don't think that the Thai soliders should've been shot at, since they weren't on a threatening mission. Although, I think they should've gotten permission from Cambodia to search for their comerade. Because of this incident, 10 people were wounded, and 5 were killed.

I found in The New York Times that right when the riots in Cairo started quieting down, workers started right back up again. The protests are requesting that President Mubarak step down from power. Mubarak has been the President for more than 30 years and the Egyptian people want change. I think that the president has been in power long enough, and if he was a good resident, he would want what's best for the people of Egypt. Mubarak should care for the well being of his country instead of his position in power.

In Spokane there was a bomb that was sophisticated and pretty near deadly. No one was hurt in this and no one was arrested. Many people are wondering why this bomb attack happened. I myself am wondering why no one was arrested if it was so bad that death could have occurred, but I am thankful that no one got hurt. Chief Anne said “To me, it’s that God’s gracious hand moved,” This was a bomb of significance that would have caused devastation.” I agree with that statement. About a month later and after the cleanup crew had found the living bomb, they planed a march honoring the Rev.Martin Luther King Jr. while the FBI is investigating it as an act for domestic terrorism.
