  • 5 paragraphs

  • Interesting Title Centered
  • Double spaced  / No blank lines between paragraphs
  • Easy to read, 12 pt font
1) Your thesis
2) Introduction Strategies (pick one):
  • Summarize the novel in 3-4 sentences
  • Explain the theme of the novel
  • Define a good person
  • Your introduction should include the author and the title. The title should be italicized.
  • Your introduction should conclude with your thesis
3) Conclusion strategies. Connect the novel to the real world:
  • Explain why this character is important
  • Explain what you learned from the character
  • Explain why the book is important
  • Evaluate your character: is your character a good person?
4) Writing time

This weekend:

If your poster isn't finished at the end of class, somebody will need to take it home and finish it.

  4. Character Posters in Groups: Draw a poster that captures your character's personality. You must include an image of the person that suggests both the personality and the setting. You must include a minimum of three personality traits (though you may include more) and two quotations that support your interpretation of each personality trait (that's a minimum of six quotations). Include the page number with your quotation. Each group needs an artist, one or two quotation finders, and one facilitator / task master. Today, you should get your personality traits and your quotations onto your poster and add color. 
  5. FYI: Poster grades will be based on your role. Artists need to create good art. Quotation finders need good quotations. Facilitators need to ensure the overall quality and thoroughness of the product.
